Mark O’Neal is sitting on his couch. In chairs off to the side of the couch are Will & Rich, Mark’s body guards. They all have their eyes fixed on the blaring television.
Newscaster – “And we are back here for the channel twelve nightly new, and the story we mentioned earlier. A deadly dog show downtown, earlier today. Let’s get right to the footage provided to us by a handheld camera.”
A video begins rolling on the news station of Mark running through the field shirtless with orange paint all over his head and pants. He sprints through an intersection, amazingly clean. One car had to slam on its breaks, and a few horns sounded, but the traffic light happened to have been timed right for Mark’s getaway.
However the light changed as Mark was almost across the street and the thirty or so vicious dogs chasing after him got to the intersection just as this occurred.
The Result:
Cars running over dogs left and right, horns blaring, cars colliding into each other. A voice can be heard from the person who was holding the camera.
Voice – “NOOO! HAULT HEINRICH!”
Shortly after this plea to one of the dogs, a dog is creamed by a car moving across the intersection. At this the camera is dropped and you just hear sprinting. In the background you can vaguely hear someone yelling. From the voice, it can be made out that is it Mark.
Mark O’Neal – “Ha, you stupid German *BEEP* (beeped out for the public tv audience). Your trick didn’t work and your stupid Doberman’s are dead. Just like your favorite Doberman Reinhardt will end up.”
The video cuts off and it cuts back in studio to the newscaster.
Newscaster – “As you can see it appears that a man lured the dogs to chase after him across an intersection, that resulted in the death of fourteen dogs, with four still having injuries nursed, with their owners praying for survival. Twelve dogs made it out of the scary scene alive luckily.
Wait, I have word that Brian has more on this story, let’s cut to Brian, live at the dog park.”
The scene cuts to “Brian” who is at the dog park where the whole incident took place, standing near the intersection which is still caution taped off. Police are there along with some Humane Society people.
Brian – “Thanks Linda, this is a tragic day for dog lovers everywhere. A dog show gone bad. Before I give you an update on the current situation let’s cut to the interview I had early with the man who was running across the intersection, Mark O’Neal.”
The scene cuts away from the live broadcast to a taped recording of Mark standing next to Brian.
Brian – “Mark, what exactly happened here today?”
Mark O’Neal – “Well these stupid German *BEEP* asked me to come out here for an interview. I agreed. It was a set up. They threw this orange paint on me and then opened the gate from the contained dog area and yelled some attack command that sent those *BEEP* dogs after me. So I did what anybody would in the situation and ran. I saw the intersection as a chance to get away and save my own life, so I did it. Dogs died. Big whoop dee doo, better them dead than me right?”
It cuts back to Brian live at the scene.
Brian – “As you can see Linda, no remorse from Mark O’Neal after he is responsible for the death of these dogs. The German women he was referring too that were beeped out due to improper language have not been located as of yet. Authorities are still searching. Mark is also a suspect in this matter still, but has been released pending investigation.
We received some information that Mark is a wrestler for High Octane Wrestling based right out of here in Chicago and that he has an upcoming match with a man who calls himself The Doberman. Could this be what really happened? One wrestler killing dogs to send a message to an opponent?
I sure hope not, but the whole situations sounds fishy to me. That’s all I have for now Linda, back to you.”
Before it cuts back to the studio the camera pans the intersection again and you can see a group of people standing with signs. The one’s that can be made out read:
“PETA will not stand for this”
“HOW kills animals”
“PETA supports Marcus Reinhardt”
“O’Neal must pay for this”
Mark shuts the television off in anger.
Mark O’Neal – “Are you fucking kidding me with this? The damn news is blaming me for this. I was not at fault at all. I was saving my own life. Those German whores need to pay for this. We need to find out who they were. I need to hire a private investigator or something. And I need to sue this radio station for defamation. This is bullshit. And now PETA wants to come after me. Fuck them.”
Will – “I don’t know how we can find those chicks. I’m sure they lied about their names, they didn’t really work for a radio station, they called you from an unavailable number, and we don’t even have a picture of them.”
Mark O’Neal – “There has to be a way to find them. I need you two to find me a top of the line PI to help me get to the bottom of this. I am going to go talk to my lawyer about this fucking news station trying to pin the blame on me.
I mean who cares anyway, they were animals, plus I hate dogs.”
Rich – “Do you want one of us to go with you in case you are attacked again?”
Mark O’Neal – “Yeah, Rich come with me. Will, you work on finding the PI.”
At this Mark walks toward the front door with Rich following him. They walk out of the front door and Mark sees there is a group of people amassed in front of his house holding some of the signs that were seen on the news station. Mark instantly walks toward them with Rich following him.
Mark O’Neal – “Get the fuck out of here.”
Protester – “You will pay for your sins, you animal murderer.”
Mark O’Neal – “It wasn’t my fault.”
Protester – “ANIMAL KILLER!!”
At this a few of the protester run up with buckets and launch some sort of red substance all over Mark. One of them throws the bucket as well and nails Mark in the head. He stumbles back. Mark is now fuming with anger and wipes the red substance from his eyes. He stares at the protester with a sadistic look in his face. Clearly Mark has rage running through his veins. Meanwhile, his security guard Rich is tussling with one of the protester, trying to get the bucket out of his hand. Mark rubs the spot on his forehead where the bucket hit him and a smile spreads across his face. He then takes off and spears the protester who tossed the bucket to the ground and begins punching him time after time. The blood begins squirting out of the protester nose. Other protesters try and grab Mark, men and women. He stands up, shoving them all to the side and begins grabbing them one after the other and punching them in the face until they go down. He hits men, women, anybody who stays around him or tries to stop him. When the others have begun running away he starts to give chase until Rich bear hugs him. Mark tries to squirm free from the big man but has no luck. He just holds onto Mark, waiting for him to calm down.
Rich – “Mark you need to chill out. You just knocked out about eight people, and a couple of them were women. You can get in trouble for this.”
Mark O’Neal – “Fuck them. They attacked me.”
As Mark finally starts calming down, a siren is heard and two cop cars pull up the scene. They get out of the cars with guns pulled, pointing at Mark, who is being bear hugged by Rich. Rich let’s go of his hold and they both lift their arms into the sky. The police come over and arrest Mark, and put him in a car as they begin to question the people at the scene.
Mark can do nothing. He is sitting helplessly in the back of a police car, cuffed. Nobody has asked him one question. He feels like the whole world is against him. Nobody is helping him. His bodyguards haven’t done shit to help him from getting in trouble. The public is blaming him for the animal deaths. Reinhardt is blaming him for the death of his mentor. PETA hates him. He just beat the shit out of helpless protesters, some of them women. Things are not looking good for Mark. He is only a few short days away from his Pay Per View Match with Marcus Reinhardt.
Mark’s thoughts begin to drift towards the match. He begins daydreaming…………
Mark envisions himself sitting in a jail cell. He has long hair and a huge beard as if he has been in the cell for years. It is pitch black except for a small light coming from underneath the jail cell door. Footsteps can be heard and they stop right in front of the door. It opens and a guard tells Mark to get up. Mark obliges and stands up slowly.
Guard – “It’s time.”
Mark O’Neal – “Time for what?”
Guard – “Time for your match with Reinhardt. Time for you to get what you deserve. HAHAHA”
The guard laughs in a sick and sadistic way as he grabs Mark and pushes him out of the door and down a hallway. They reach the end of the hallway and he opens a door and pushes Mark through it, on the other side of the door is a huge arena. Jam packed with people. Mark looks from side to side at the crowd who sees him and begins booing intensely. PETA signs litter the crowd. He looks at the ring in the center and it is none other than Marcus Reinhardt standing in the ring with two Dobermans next to him growling. Marcus then speaks in his dream.
Marcus Reinhardt – “O’Neal, it is time for you to pay, any last words?”
Mark magically has a microphone handed to him and he begins speaking into it.
Mark O’Neal – “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why did you do this to me Reinhardt. You ruined my life. You ruined my life!!! Now you will pay. Now I will kill you for killing me. I didn’t kill your mentor, you did. I did kill those dogs, you did. I didn’t hurt those women, you did. I am innocent.
Everything was because of you. And now you will pay. I will destroy you in this coliseum just like Spartacus destroyed his competition. “
Mark then begins running towards the ring when all of a sudden hundreds of dogs jump over the railings and run at Mark, taking him down to the ground as Mark screams.
A police officer begins nudging Mark.
Police Officer – “Hey. Wake up. Wake up. HEY.”
Mark stirs around in the seat and opens his eyes, staring at the cop.
Police Officer – “We are taking you in for questioning.”
Mark O’Neal – (still slightly out of it) “I didn’t do anything. Reinhardt did it. It is all Reinhardt’s fault. He will pay for all of this. He will pay.”
Police Officer – “Who?”
Mark O’Neal – (coming to his senses) “I need to call me lawyer.”
The scene fades as Mark is driven away in the police car.
